The Calibre library offers a large library of audio books. Some of these books are commercial audio books for which the publisher has granted free access to people who are print disabled, which of course includes people with sight loss. Other Calibre audio books are recordings produced under licence by Calibre which are available only to people who are print disabled. Books are available immediately; you never need to wait for a book to be returned by another reader. Downloaded books may be kept for 28 days but there is also the ability to stream books without this limitation . Calibre audio books, like RNIB audio books, can be downloaded and read using the Dolphine Easy Reader app. If you use both services, your Easy reader library will show books you have borrowed from both services in the same list.
Your first step is to join the Calibre service at https://www.calibreaudio.org.uk/service/membership
The joining process, and subsequent use of Dolphin EasyReader is all compatible with VoiceOver or low vision settings.
If you have any questions or problems setting up or using this service then please check the Calibre website for contact information.
