To forward a text message, the individual text message must first be located. If you are on the screen with a "Messages, heading", then you will need to swipe to find the conversation that contains the message. You will hear a person's name and the most recent message to or from that person. Double tap to open the whole conversation with that person and swipe to locate the individual message that is to be forwarded.
Alternatively, if you are already on a screen displaying a conversation with one individual, there will be a button at top sentre of the screen confirming their name. Swipe to locate the message to be forwarded.
When VoiceOver has begun to speak the message you want to forward swipe up to find "more" and double tap. This will automatically select the message and bring up a delete button and a forward button at bottom left and right of the screen, respectively.
Explore near bottom right of the screen for the "forward, button" and double tap.
You will hear "to, text field, is editing". Now, in the Messages app, the software writers did the sensible thing unlike in the Mail app. So, swipe right and you will hear "add contact, button". Double tap to reveal your list of contacts. You will find the usual section index at extreme right of the screen. Swipe down to the letter you require and then swipe right to find the contact and then double tap. If there is only one way of sending text messages to your recipient, you will now be back at the "to, text field" and you can either add more recipients or swipe right a few times to locate the "send, button" and double tap to send the forwarded message.
However, many of your contacts may have messages set up so that they can be messaged using an email address as well as phone numbers. If this is the case, you will be presented with a choice and you will need to swipe through the choices and select. I suggest that you swipe to find the mobile phone number and then double tap to select it. You will now be back at the "To, text field", where you can add additional recipients if you wish. When you are ready to send the message, swipe right a few times to find the "send, button," and double tap to send the forwarded message.
The Delete button will be near the centre of the bottom of the screen. Double tapping on the forward button may not take you directly to the Too field. Explore for the Too field near the top of the right half of the screen.
