Managing your calendar with Siri AI

Siri AI will respond, maybe slightly differently, to calendar instructions which work for Siri but you can use any clear natural language instruction or request. I recommend that you experiment with Siri AI to discover for yourself how it performs on the instructions or questions you would find most useful.

Siri AI behaves differently from Siri when you schedule an event that includes the name of a contact and don't prefix the request with "schedule an event called". Siri AI, by default, will spot the name of a contact and mail an automated meeting invitation email to them. If you prefer not to send automated invitations and don't want to have to remember to use "schedule an event called..." then Siri AI offers a setting in Settings / Apps / Calendar. Turn the Recognise Event Details off to instruct Siri AI not to identify things like contact names or event locations from your instructions.

Siri AI can respond to questions like "what's in my calendar next month", but after its first response you may need to instruct it to "speak them all and don't include reminders". Even if scheduled reminders don't appear in your calendar, Siri sometimes includes them. This is a good example of how to handle a request that didn't get the answer you wanted; you can refine a response with further instructions to Siri.

Becausde Siri is now aware of the contents of yor screen; if you have the details of an event, like an invitation to lunch with a friend on screen, then you can instruct Siri to add it to your calendar.
