Siri

Siri is Apple's digital assistant. It can be used on Apple devices including iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch and it can respond to spoken or typed commands. Siri has had rather limited capabilities for year but the September 2026 release of version 27 of Apple's operating systems brings the beginning of the roll out of Siri AI, a hugely more capable version of Siri which is available only on devices which support Apple Intelligence. From now on there are two version of Siri - Siri for older devices and Siri AI for newer devices. Many readers will have devices that can't support Siri AI so I'll try to make it clear when I'm describing features that are specific to Siri AI. For now, please assume that if Siri AI isn't mentioned, then the advice applies equally to both versions.
